* Our Angels*
PumpkinPumpkin was an Orange Mini lop mix & was so sweet! I got him around 2010. He was was a bonded buddy with Clover my Broken Black Holland Lop Buck. They were together since they were babies & were inseperable. On Friday morning, February 3, 2012 I went out to check on the rabbits & pack some up, before leaving for a show & I found poor Pumpkin lying in his cage, lifeless. He has already passed away. It was one of those weird things. Fine the day before & gone the next.

Cami Cami was an orange & lilac Harlequin female rabbit. She was so sweet & friendly & would let you do her any old way like a rag doll. She was always a great mother. I got her in summer 2010 & never had a litter from her. In that summer i had a Dutch doe & Cami was in the same hutch as her. Well, The dutch doe had a litter of babies & I thought oh my what have i done i better get Cami out before she kills the babies. She would sit on the nest, pull her own hair, & gather hay for the nest herself too. Well when the Dutch babies were about a week old Cami got sick & we took her to the vet & she had to be put by herself. She became healthy again within a week but tragically one week after her becoming healthy again the mother to the Dutch babies unexpectedly died. Well, come to my though I said there only three weeks old & certainly cannot survive without a mother. I did not have anymore litter what so ever so I could not foster them. I thought that since they cant have a mother & I cant foster them at least I can put Cami in there with them so they can have something to snuggle with them & clean them & have a motherly figure there.Miraculously the litter lived & grew up healthy & fine & all went to their homes. I tried to breed Cami sense I thought she could be such a great mother. I never a single out of her. She always loved to play with the other mothers babies in the yard no matter if 6 weeks old or 11 weeks old she was so happy to be with them. If i would have allowed it she would have loved to be in another mothers nest of babies. Well on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 she was pulling a lot of fur out & I thought maybe its a false pregnancy. I came back later on that evening & she had 4 babies with only losing one right after birth. I gave her a nesting box & I moved the remaining 3 babies into the box. She took great care of them & was happy to have them. When I would go outside to feed her she didn't care about the food or fresh hay she would hop right up in her nest or near it. She would look up at me so proud at what she had done & what she had. She couldn't have been a happier bunny. Sometimes she would nuzzle her head in her nest just to check them & feel them moving. On Monday, May 23, 2011 I checked on her that evening & she was laying in her box funny. I opened her cage & discovered that she passed away. She loved those babies so much that died right next to them. The babies were fine except for on that she had laid on. I buried it with her & the other two babies which have the same markings as their Mother Cami, were fostered by my Holland Lop Buttons. She will be greatly missed.
Rest in Peace my girl. She was something very special. |
TippyLittle Tippy was so sweet & silly! I loved him so much! Tippy had such a sad story. I bought him to be intended to be a breeder. The day after I bought him, when I came home from school, I went outside to check on my bunnies. I did the usual, walked down the row looking in each cage one by one. Before I even reached Tippy's cage he started freaking out. Bouncing around & running in his cage. He stopped & then calmed down, but I got him out to check on him to make sure he was alright & he wasn't. He must have messed up something in his back to make his legs stop working. He began crawling but didnt haven any use in his legs. I was terrified & crying & didnt know what to do. I think he was more calmer then me. After the incident he came inside to live. At night I would get him out & lay him on me & he would crawl up & lick my face. He was such a sweetie. He passed away during the night, not long after. He is absolutley one of the most missed bunnies that I have lost.
ChocolateThis is Chocolate. He was a chocolate standard Rex male rabbit. I got him from Luray Pets pet store on June 13, 2010. He was so sweet & precious. He had the funniest personality were he would bounce back & forth in the cage when he saw somebody walk by just to get their attention. I loved him so much ; ). He is the only standard Rex buck we've had.

Butterscotch & Thumper
Above is two very small & sweet bunnies we miss very much, Thumper & Butterscotch. They were both orange purebred Dwarf Lops. The only thing that made Thumper a little different from his sister was that he had a light gray stripe on his right side & a gray dot on his eye. I got them in August, 2010 from Luray Pets, pet store as little babies only meaning to get one, but i just couldn't leave the other behind. Thumper was a male & Butterscotch was a female. They sadly died one day I wasn't at home from the heat on September 23, 2009.
